Safflower

This tropical plant is also grown at ours in many places. When the flower comes up, you have a bright orange colour when they are dried they are fiery red. They are hardly smelly and bitter.
Safflower is a raw material for many international dishes because of its aromatic flavor and its colouring ability: Spanish paella, Italian risotto, French bouillabaisse and it also finds its use in wine production and in the baking industry.
