Caraway (grounded)

Caraway is one of the oldest spices: In food from the Stone Age were found about 5.000 year-old signs, as a protection against bad ghosts, the Egyptians put a container full of caraway seeds in their graves, later it was an important ingredient in love potions.
Caraway is used in large quantities in the kitchens of Central and Eastern-Europe, Germany and Austria. From bread-rolls, sauerkraut and goulash to the aquavit ranging uses for the seed, which is also used as a stomach strengthening and carminative medicine.
