Cayenne pepper

As cayenne pepper grounded cayenne chiles are called. Usually the dried fruits of Cayenne chilli  serve as a basis hot fruits. The cayenne pepper is not, as one might guess from its name, derived from the fruit of a pepper crop. A characteristic feature is the slightly smoky, slightly bitter flavor and pungency. The origins of the spice are in Latin America. Finds in prehistoric graves in Peru show that even 7.000 BC cultivation trials were held. The Spanish, who in the 15th century came to Latin America, valued the dried pods as a substitute for the domestic black pepper. They referred to them as pimentia and they  exported them towards Europe.
