Cumin (jeera)

Findings show that the Egyptians already knew it was 5.000 years ago, he was found even in pyramids. According to Biblical sources cumin was once thrashed with sticks, one must manglaubte "cumin must be cursed at sowing and so there will be a rich harvest". In ancient times it symbolized greed and meanness, but in the middle age it was a symbol of fidelity.
In appearance it resembles the taste and cumin, sour and spicy, however. The spice is used in cheese making, mixed in various baked goods and is especially popular in those country kitchens with very spicy foods (India, Middle East, North Africa and Mexico).
